Story: "A small group of American soldiers find horror behind enemy lines on the eve of D-Day."
Overlord (2018) is an action horror film from producer J.J. Abrams. This movie has one of the best and one of my personal favorite openings of all time. It instantly puts you in the experience of the world this movie is making. It’s intense and it’s dangerous. We follow a small group of soldiers who’s mission is to destroy a radio tower built in castle of an old French town that the Third Reich uses for communication between Berlin and Normandy beaches’ bunkers. As they venture through a forest filled with enemies they come across a villager named Chloe who reluctantly joins them.
The main lead, Boyce (played by Jovan Adepo) and Chloe (Mathilde Ollivier) were my absolute favorites. Chloe has a number of great chase scenes through out the films course. As a horror fan those types of scenes get me hyped. As our heroes continue their mission they soon learn there’s a more sinister story happening behind the mysterious walls of the Nazis control tower. Which forces the group to make hasty decisions. Boyce was the like-able if at times annoying (he always wanted to do the right thing, even if the outcomes were negative) hero of the film and he’s played by a black actor.
A black actor leading a horror film is truly a pleasure to see and we definitely need more of that. This movie is very gory, intense, dreadful and a fun ride once you kick back and enjoy yourself. I recommend it for anyone who loves shooter video games, war films and zombies.

Yeah a lot of people didn’t see it and I think it’s very underrated. It was good for what it was
Sadly I didn't see this movie in theatres because I thought it was gonna be bad, but then I watched it on Hulu a couple of months ago and loved it.
