Miss Stevens is quite personal to me because I feel it tackles depression and loss with a rare sensitivity. When I saw it back then when it came out I was heavily struggling with depression and this movie just hit me deeply. I really connected with this story and characters.

This is how I was introduced to Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name) back in the day and discovered how good of an actor he is. He knows how to convey emotion through his mannerisms and facial expressions. The rest of the actors all give satisfactory performances, like Lili Reinhart (Riverdale) who is just as good even if her character is a bit annoying at first.

Miss Stevens belongs to Lily Rabe (American Horror Story), an actress I think is wonderfully underrated. She gives an emotional and sincere performance. If the Oscar's were a fair place and not a popularity contest she'd at least have gotten a nomination for best actress. She looks so honest, sad & awkward.

The soundtrack sets the mood and one of my favorite details. Specially the consistent song "Sister Golden Hair" by America.

To wrap my silly opinions up: Miss Stevens is a well directed and written mature drama dealing with some hard issues but constantly sweet, heartfelt & straightforward. Sadly overlooked in a world overstuffed by big budget superheroes or bad remakes to movies that don't need another adaptation. I think Miss Stevens can resonate with anyone who's ever dealt with any of the issues explored.
