After all the backlash "Jeepers Creepers 3" received due to director Victor Salva's criminal past I'd actually be surprised if this project gets off the ground. But this series has is share of loyal fans so you never know.
Part 3 is troubled from start to finish. With everything looking cheap, rushed and making no sense whatsoever. Which is completely sad because fans awaited ages for the release and was shown in 2 or 3 cinemas across the states. "Jeepers Creepers 3" is a curious film, one that I appreciate more than I actually enjoy. But knowing what went down behind the scenes makes me a little more forgiving than the actual moviegoer.
Now to be honest, I don't normally care what happens behind the scenes or celebrities personal lives. I judge a movie on its own merits 'cause they're made by many people and not just one or two. Anyway, this little IMDB news got me excited as a long time fan of the first 2. If you look up the page there's not much listed other than Victor Salva might have something to do with writing the script and that could take place after part 2.
I do hope they stick around with the story originally meant for part 3 which brought "Trish" back (played by Gina Phillips) in a quest to avenge her brother (played by the ever sexy Justin Long). I did read some comics based on "The Creeper" character and they do give him a nice backstory that I think could work. It's simple, interesting and can definitively work. This time around I hope Salva stays in the backseat. Let someone else take the directors chair. That way we may get a decent budget, avoid a protest and have a decent looking movie that doesn't look made for tv.
So far no actor is listed as coming back and this might just be fake news. But I'll be damned if I'm not excited. Jonathan Breck better return as "The Creeper" as he's to "Jeepers Creepers" what Robert Englund is to "A Nightmare On Elm Street".
