Ana (short-film)

Writer's picture: StonersaurusStonersaurus

Michael Anthony is one of my closests friends who earned an Associates degree in Cinematography at the CCAT in Puerto Rico. With the help of his colleagues, as part of a school project they decided to make a horror short film by the name of Ana.

In Michael's words:

"Ana is a story about a mother-daughter relationship which is very toxic. The daughter confides in her imaginary friend to hide from her mothers abusive ways. The story was more elaborate and in depth but since this was for a short film contest I had to compact it into a 6 minute film. It’s essentially a revenge story."

What inspired you to make the short film Ana?

My inspiration for Ana is my love for the genre of horror. I’ve always felt drawn to films especially those that cause fear or discomfort. It’s like a rush of adrenaline that’s unlike anything else.

How was the experience of shooting the short film Ana?

Ana was my first time ever writing (Pablo Gonzalez co-wrote) and directing. So I was very excited and nervous. My experience throughout the whole process was awesome. There were long days and bad days but I have no regrets. It was a learning process for myself and for everyone involved. I want to keep pursuing this art and tel more stories in and out of the horror genre.

Here is the short so you can check it out:
