Story: One man's journey to the future to save a dying world.
2067 is the low-budget better version of a movie like After Earth (you know that mess starring Will Smith and his son?) lead by the talented Kodi Smit-McPhee (Alpha) in a role where he comes off as way too whiny and passive for me but gives a proper performance either way and his co-star Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) is just as good if underused. This is mostly a two-man show where both characters are walking stereotypes moving the convoluted story forward. Starts off quite nicely, setting up the story and characters but somewhere along the way lost me. There's an antagonist thrown into the story and a whole mystery waiting to unravel that's not very interesting. 2067 is aesthetically pleasing and honestly, this has one of the best soundtracks I've heard all year. The soundtrack is both emotional and epic.
Story: A college student unwittingly releases terrifying entities from her school's past via a Halloween themed computer meme.
Halloween Party reminded me of two movies: One Missed Call & Countdown. What do they all have in common? Stories of supernatural entities using cell-phones, or in this case, computer viruses to haunt our sorry asses. For such a modest horror movie they put their money to good use as this look better than most low-budget I've seen. The acting is better than average, has some creepy looking visuals, and makes the silly concept work even if they don't really follow their own established rules. I actually liked the final girl a lot, she's fiercer than your usual heroine.
